Good Work...Ludhiana

Dosto, Ludhiana team has confirmed their willingness with seven members. By the grace of God Almighty, we will be around 40 in number if all goes as planned. There will be a meeting on 2nd, January, 2011 in Ludhiana with all P.T.A as well as P.T.A (S.F) faculty.
As per an active and responsible member hopefully the numbers will increase by another 7 or 6 members on that date.

Welcome GCW,Ludhiana

Friends, Jaswinder ji was nice enough to convey our thoughts and apprehensions to people of GCTA Ludhiana and also to staff of self financed courses of Govt. College For Women.

They are also with us for going to the court for a stay order now.

As per telephonic conversation with computer faculty of GCW, Ludhiana, there is massive exploiatation being done in Ludhiana also.

1. Important to note that the ceiling amount being observed for salary in Ludhiana is Rs.10,000, in Sathiala it is 8,500, while in Tarn Taran and Amritsar it is 7000 Rs. only. How can the college fool us in accepting variable salary structure while it should have been uniform 12,000 for all colleges in Punjab.
   
2. Take home salary however in any of the college is never full. Minimum monthly salary in GCW,Asr last month was Rs.875.
3. No payment is being made for all additional work that we carry out. In GCW, Ludhiana, according to a computer faculty, staff was used for special duties in a cultural meet from morning 9 O'clock to 9 O'clock in night without paying them a single rupee. Is this justice? What else is exploitation then?
4. Remember friends, we are not payed for paper checking, conducting house examination/practicals, other duties like working in seminars, workshops and college festivals.

2. Duty List
3. Salary cheque or bank statement (your own or college acccount)
4. Articals in college magzine.
5. Answer sheets checked by you.
6. Award lists signed by you.
7. Salary statements
8. College notice having your name.
9. Any other document showing you have worked, preferably mentioning session.

Lawyer meeting and else

The meeting with lawyer is fixed for Friday, 24 Dec, 2010.

In the mean while I contacted Mr.Jaswinder Singh, Pardhan, Guest Faculty, Punjab, for getting contact of guest faculty (computer science) of other districts.

He is of the view that we should file a writ petition instead of court case. In his view, there is no need to prove that we are working full time and full load, as govt. does not deny that.

1. He will discuss about our issue with State President, Govt College Teachers Association on 22 Dec, 2010.
2. The issue of replacement is solved according to him as we (even uncovered staff) cannot be replaced.
   
3. He will forward the contacts of computer faculty of other districts.
4. According to him we should wait for another few days i.e. till January starting, before taking a step, if need be.
5. He will call back on 22, Dec, 2010 about the discussion and also suggest a suitable course of action after talking with State GCTA and Ludhiana college staff.

In my view there is no harm in waiting for a response. The courts are due for closure anyway and our procceedings will rollon to January first week almost. What do you all have to say?

First Meeting 19,Dec, 2010

Dear friends, as per the meeting held at Amritsar (19,Dec,2010) , the following points were agreed upon....

1. File a case for full pay and non-replacability.
2. Find computer faculty contacts from other colleges to gather more and more people under one case. It will also bring down cost per person for case.
3. Decide contact persons from colleges of Tarn Taran, Sathiala and Amritsar for future communication of messages.
4. Arrange meeting with lawyer in the coming week.
5. Decide two representatives for meeting lawyer.
6. Contribute fund (approx..100 Rs.) for representatives visiting Chandigarh.
7. Assign a fund manager from Sathiala or Tarn Taran college who will keep track of money matters.
8. Setup online blog for communication to all members.
9. Publish all money details on blog for absolute transparency.
